I decided if I didn't sign up to learn Bowen Therapy I would regret it in 12 months time. I kept thinking of all the aliments people in my life had and how Bowen could really help them so I overcame my fear of commitment and did some research.
I discovered the nationally accredited Certificate IV course could be completed over 12-18 months with pay as you go instalments. After discussing it with Margaret (my Bowen Therapist in Picton NSW) I decided to contact Bowen Technique (Bowtech™ ) Instructor Farida Irani of Subtle Energies in Castle Hill, Farida also runs Bowen Therapy Modules in many countries including India and Hong Kong. Farida sent me an information package which outlined the dates of the Practical Modules and the distance learning modules.
In early October 2022, I signed up and commenced the self paced theory modules at home.

The first two topics are done over a 4 week period and cover Work Health and Safety and Infection Control. As I have basic knowledge of WHS from my current and previous workplaces, I found this module quite easy to work through using the learner guidebook supplied. The Infection Control module was very clear and covered lots of scenarios and how to handle them. Once I worked through the subject and answered the assessment questions, I felt confident with my knowledge and my ability to maintain safe practice in my work place. I completed these two topics in my own time, a few hours after work and on the weekends was manageable and I submitted the completed forms for marking well before the due date.
I really loved the fact that I now have a list of policies and procedures I will need if I work for myself in a clinic setting. I am aware of the current legislation in relation to Workplace Health and Safety and my obligations as a business owner.
