First Practical Module
Bowtech™ Instructor Farida Irani from Subtle Energies Academy of Holistic Natural Therapies in Castle Hill NSW holds the first two practical modules together over 4 days. From the minute we arrived in her studio she made us feel welcomed and relaxed. Any prior nerves I had quickly dissipated as the students I am learning with are a beautiful supportive group which made the whole experience all more open and comfortable.

Following the Bowtech™ instruction manual we worked our way through learning the best way to greet clients, take comprehensive health history, identifying client needs, proper draping and then moved onto the first set of Bowen moves. Farida’s clear teaching style gives excellent instruction on hand placement, pressure and technique. Having the opportunity to practice on other students and have them practice on myself provided reinforcement and further understanding of each move and we sure packed in a lot of moves over the four days! We went from a tentative group feeling a little bit overwhelmed to confidently putting procedures together based on simulated scenarios.
In between the practical components, Farida provides invaluable information on the history of Bowen Therapy, the body and its systems and how Bowen works its magic. We also discussed the benefit of developing strong client relationships in order to provide the best care to all who seek treatment and appropriate follow up exercises and care.
On the final day we were sent off after a lovely lunch together and lots of newly required knowledge to go off with our logbooks and “practice, practice, practice!” with the reassurance that if we had any questions the lines of communication with our instructor are always open.
