Always do your research and book with a trained Bowtech™ Bowen Therapy Practitioner.

Wear comfortable light clothing and allow additional time at your first appointment for a consultation.

During your first session be honest with the therapy provider about your symptoms and ailments so they can develop a suitable treatment plan moving forward.

Bowen Therapy sessions usually last 45-60 minutes.

The therapist will have you lie or sit down, depending on the areas that need to be worked. You remain clothed during the session.

The therapist uses light pressure on specific areas of your body to roll over the fascia under the skin.

After a series of 2-4 manoeuvres the therapist will leave the room for 2-5 minutes allowing your body time to process the stimuli. This technique uses the bodies own feedback mechanism. It may take your nervous system up to a week to fully respond to the Bowen session.

You may feel changes during your session, sometimes you start to relax immediately, you may feel stiff and sore, you may feel hot or cold. Some people won't feel changes for a few days.

In my experience I felt slightly more inflamed and stiff for the 24 hours after a session as my body began to break up the calcification around my inflamed areas, then after 2 days I noticed significant improvement in my joints, movement and overall wellbeing.

Always keep up your water intake in the days following your Bowen Therapy session, this helps flush our toxins. Make sure you keep moving by walking and follow any instructions given by your therapist. The amount of sessions required will depend on your individual needs.
